Booklist had some very nice things to say about Veiled Threat: The blossoming romance between Frank and the innocent Giulia—as well as the ongoing process of Giulia finding her way in the world after living years in the convent (she uses Cosmopolitan to learn about men)—provides character-based appeal for this fast-paced, satisfying mystery. Publisher’s Weekly Likes Veiled Threat, Too!
I want to hug those first five words: In Loweecey’s absorbing third mystery featuring Giulia Falcone of Pittsburgh’s Driscoll Investigations (after 2012’s Back in the Habit), former nun Giulia looks into the kidnapping of the adopted baby girl of lesbian partners Laurel and Anya Drury after the Cottonwood, Pa., police are initially unhelpful.
